Born premature, little Frances was baptized the very day she was born, because she was not expected to live long. Well, overcoming tremendous odds and hardships would eventually become a kind of motto for her. This amazing woman, the first USA citizen to be canonized, would not only live but go onto form the Missionary Sisters of the Sacred Heart, become friend to three Popes,  a foster-mother to thousands of children, and establish over sixty institutions to serve immigrants, orphans and others in need. This is her story.
