I learned about this examination of conscience (EoC) booklet at a retreat I attended, and it is the best such aid I've ever seen. I'm on a team at our parish that puts on a program for returning Catholics. We've seen and handed out various EoCs, but this is by far the best. Notable is that it separately lists possible mortal and venial sins, and in a separate section explains the three conditions for a sin being mortal This booklet is a must have for any Catholic, and would be especially useful for (R,O)CIA programs and returning-Catholic programs.

I received one of these at a marriage retreat and found it to be the most thorough and detailed examination of conscience booklets I had ever seen or read. I ordered 500 for our parish for Lent penance service; they are all gone now and so I ordered 200 more for another priest parish and an extra hundred for our parish in case we need more for penance service in a couple of weeks.
I highly recommend this examination of conscience booklet because of its detailed information on mortal and venial sins under each commandment. Some people may lack the catechesis and doubt or just not sure if they’ve committed a sin or not, and whether it is mortal or venial. This book will explain in detail these questions we may ask ourselves. Please purchase one for yourself or more for your parish or family, it can be meritorious for your soul.

I love this little booklet and take it with me every time I go to confession. As a convert, it helped me understand the sacrament and it guides me when I am in the confessional. I give it to friends that are in RCIA because I think sometimes they don’t teach you exactly what to do and say when you go to reconciliation. It can be intimidating. The booklet is small enough that you can carry it discreetly in your pocket or purse. Highly recommend!

I made a list of the sins from mortal to venial and threw in some not considered as either. The priest was impressed with the thoroughness of my Confession. Read it again for the next Confession. Bought 25 more and passed them out to friends and church members. What a book!

This is by far the best Examination of Conscience I have found. Most of the resources out there are great for people who don't go very often and need to confess the common mortal sins. But, if you go monthly, those pamphlets don't really get the job done anymore. This resource has thorough lists of mortal and venial sins (sorted by the Ten Commandments) as well as some common "imperfections" we should be working on.
In addition, this pamphlet explains why Reconciliation is necessary, tells you how to go, and provides prayers.
EXCELLENT resource. Many of those whom have received this said it provided them their best confession ever.

This is the best examination of conscience. I have used it in my parish for several years. Due to its popularity, the copies disappear quickly. It is truly a great resource for preparing for confession.

This is a very comprehensive guide in preparation for a good confession. While the book’s list of sins is lengthy, it inspires a lot of soul-searching and criticism of self that is needed to recognize our weaknesses. The prayers and explanations of the sacrament of Penance add depth to experiencing the mercy of God. I bought extra copies to give to my Catholic friends.

We live in the Church which has become more and more liberal as it comes to teaching the faithful what sin is; it is especially visible re the 6th and 9th Commandments. Fr. Robert Altier in this examination of conscience courageously and unapologetically lists all sins. All Catholics should get this booklet, including priests and bishops; and, use it, of course, when preparing for confession. Thank you Fr. Altier for speaking the Truth.

This is is an outstanding Catholic company. A huge, quality selection of Catholic products that are reasonably priced. Many items that I could not locate in the EWTN catalog. If you cannot find what you want, you're not looking hard enough. Be patient, but be diligent in your searches. God bless this company!
