Current-day Fontanini pieces come complete with a story card; however, older figures may not. Older figures are marked on the bottom with a small spider and the words “Depose Italy”.  In 1980, Fontanini replaced the spider with the Fontanini name and logo, which is a fountain.

There are several size options: 3.5”, 5”, 7.5”, 12” 18”, 27”50”.  The 5” is the most popular with hundreds of figures besides the basic Nativity pieces (baby Jesus, Mary, Joseph).  You can create an entire village with not only figures but also buildings to create an authentic Bethlehem scene.
