Father Pro was an ardent lover of the poor, working hard to bring them bread, as well as the Holy Eucharist for the faithful. Like all Catholic priests of his day, he was deeply hated by the governemnt, and had to evade the secret police and army through the clever use of disguises and hiding places. When he was finally caught, this man died a martyr for our Lord Jesus Christ. His example of unwavering charity and devotion in the face of persecution is an example to all those living under tyranny in our day.
