Saint Jude is a Christian saint and one of the twelve apostles of Jesus. His other names are Jude Thaddaeus. He should not be confused with Judas Iscariot, yet another apostle, who betrayed Jesus and later (according to Matthew) committed suicide.

Saint Jude was a brother of St. James the Less. These brothers have often been identified with Jude, brother of Jesus and James the Just, two of the "brethren of the Lord" mentioned in Mark 6:3:
