The Holy Veil Of Manoppello by Paul Badde
The Holy Veil Of Manoppello
The Human Face of God
By Paul Badde
Unlike the more famously known Shroud of Turin, which shows the visage of a dead Christ lying in repose, this covering, known as the Veil of Manoppello, is the covering over the face of Christ that, when He rose from the dead on Easter morning, was imprinted with the visage of the Risen Christ in glory! With eyes open, piercing those who look upon Him with His gaze.
This is the cloth that St. John's Gospel says, When Peter went into the tomb, he saw linen wrappings lying there, and the cloth that had been on Jesus head, not lying with the linen wrappings but rolled up in a place by itself. Not only this, but sacred Tradition says it was Our Lady Mary herself who placed this covering upon Jesus' face. Learn more about this once lost but now found treasure of the Church.
